⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ There isn’t enough stars to be honest! . . .
From the first consultation right through to the day my guitar was collected, the whole process was so enjoyable and professional.
Paul’s craftsmanship and attention to detail is absolutely amazing. Throughout the whole process there was communication and discussion about what I wanted and recommendations of what would look and sound best. Very important throughout as this meant all the finer details were so carefully crafted and styled to suit the custom style guitar being made.

The guitar sounds like no other! It’s tone and resonance is so perfect that any chord and style of playing is so easy to listen to and to play a dream. If I change guitars at home, while playing, it usually takes me a couple of minutes to adjust to it, but from the second I picked up my guitar to play it on the day it was collected, I immediately played this masterpiece effortlessly. It felt like I was playing this for years.

Thank you Paul for my Murphy Custom guitar. I really appreciate all the tone and effort put in and I am so happy and thankful for your work.

Take care.

"I first met Paul when I needed some repair work done on a guitar and this was the first of many enjoyable encounters. The work was done quickly to a high standard and at reasonable cost. As we stood in his front room chatting about guitars in general (the guys passion for guitars is unreal) I couldn't help but notice the various examples of his own work sitting on stands. He was more than happy to let me try them all and I suppose I knew leaving that day that I would have to have one. Several more visits later for various bits and pieces of work and I could resist no more and we agreed he would make me a guitar.

The whole experience of commissioning a Murphy Custom guitar is on a different level from going into a shop to buy one. First you have to trust the guy making it that he's going to get it right. From the examples I saw I had no concerns there.  Secondly, choosing all the tone woods and various options such as bevels and cut-aways is something you don't get,  going the normal route. Finally, every few weeks Paul would send photos showing how the build was progressing and this merely added to the excitement.

Sure enough the guitar was ready on time (just before my 50th birthday) and to say i was blown away is an understatement. Everything was perfect and the tone and sustain from the guitar is insane. Looks wise it's a real head turner.

I suppose the highest compliment I can pay is that I have owed a number of high end acoustic from a very well known guitar makers from around the world over the years. I had one from a well known Irish maker at the time and  sold this a matter of weeks after getting my Murphy guitar. All i can say is the  Murphy Custom was superior in every way and cost less!

I also have a guitar for life which will only improve with age, and made a new friend.

So if you are considering something special and a bit out of the ordinary then don't hesitate to check Paul out. You will get the guitar of your dreams built to a standard at least as good as anything you could buy anywhere."

" The First time i picked up one I was totally blown away by the tone of this guitar. It plays like a dream and the quality of the workmaship is ridiculous. Plays and sounds better than any Lowden or Taylor I've owned."

"Now fast forward a year... I've been playing it nearly every day since I got it, but today I took it out of the case and some magic happened. Its sounding absolutely stunning!! The guitar has really opened up tonally and is sounding better than ever. I  also recently took a run up to Belfast with my uncle to help him pick a guitar. We tried everything that was there across the three shops. I was totally underwhelmed by all of them. Its safe to say you've raised the bar beyond the reach of any of them!!"

"From the first time I got to try a MCG I instantly knew from the first strum of an E that I had pure quality in my hands...and from that moment on the custom acoustic build specific to my needs had started(well in my head anyways) I then spent a lot of time chatting to Paul and going over the endless details that a guitar nerd like myself and Paul can talk for ever about...so after deciding on  most of my options the build started..for the whole build I was kept as closely involved as a customer could be and was sent detailed pics of all stages..on the day of collection I was blown away by the tone beauty and sheer perfection of the build in ever way...to say happy customer is an understatement, and as the year is going on the guitar is opening up fantastically with Huge overtones and pure brilliance...iv had my MCG in some very astute company (very big U.S and world renowned luthiers )to do sound comparisons and the 3 of us in the room that day with over 30k worth of amazing guitars we all thought the MCG sounded the best...take the punt folks this guy has  got serious talent and skills and you won't be disappointed"

"Having played a number of his guitars I have come to the realisation that they cannot be faltered in tone. Every single instrument I played was well balanced, warm and played like a dream.

The aspect of the guitars that stood out to me was the attention to detail and the ability to achieve so much in terms of volume and tone.... The guitars were as light as a feather but the sound was as good as anything I have ever heard.

As I explained to paul I am a hater of high, harsh trebles and this was an attribute I did not find in his instruments. The trebles seemed to blend into the high mids producing melody notes that were rich in tone and warmth and we're not harsh to the ear.

There was one detail that really stuck with me after playing the instruments and it was the neck, more specifically the back of the neck.... We forget about our left hand and what it has to go through. It's hard to explain but I'm sure people who have played and bought the instruments will agree. There is something about he back of the neck that makes transitioning extremely easy. It is so smooth with no resitance that sliding from the 1st to 12th fret is a dream."

"I finally got to play one of these guitars last night. Truly superb work Sir!

The beveled edges are beautifully done. Grain is stunning. I hope you don't mind me saying when I saw it on the stand I expected

to pick up a Lowdenesque instrument....because there are quite a few Celtic makers I've played and they all nod their head to

George in some degree ....And I dislike Lowdens. The guitar that I played felt infinitely better to me as it had both Nth American

and European qualities in terms of both feel and tone....factor in that it was strung with Elixirs (which I also dislike) ....yet this

didn't bother me at all on this creation...so I can only imagine with nice it would be with a set of phosphor bronzes etc. It would have gone up even a few more notches. Incredible Guitar."
